THE CRAFT SHOW, CHILFORD HALL VINEYARD 17th 18th 19th OCTOBER 2008 Margaret ventured out on her own (with her husband as back-up) to Chilford Hall Vineyard in Cambridgeshire.  The location was superb and the quality of crafts second to none.  The fair was over 2 ½ days with everything from home-made beer to classy wooden chairs to drink it in.  We ran a competition to guess the length of a scarf to win it, which caused some interest, but the most talked about garment which caused laughs when people were encouraged to work out what it was, was the poodle coat.  We had guesses from arm warmer to hood with eye holes (at this we confessed that we weren’t in the market for prospective bank robbers). All in all it was a very enjoyable outing. The winner of the scarf with a guess of 193 cms.was Sue Arnold from Balsham, Cambridge. Congratulations Sue

Miranda and Vera, two of our new designs can be viewed on our web pages.  Take a peep.  All our designs can be made up in your chosen colours and price is determined by the type of yarn used.  As well as working on items for our stand, we have completed bespoke orders which we aim to make up in 4weeks from receipt of a deposit.  Please contact us for further details of this service. Margaret has been organising our Children’s Collection, but got a bit side-tracked with her new dog-coats. (I really mean coats for dogs).  These will be on view later in the year, but if your pet feels chilly now, let us know and we’ll put a picture on our website. We do check our e-mails regularly, in spite of being nearly welded to our knitting needles.   We love to hear from our fans. Did you know that: Alpaca wool, which is soft and lustrous, is particularly durable.  It is a remarkable fibre as it responds to temperature i.e. warm in winter and light and cool in summer.  We make luxury socks and bed socks in alpaca – wonderful for the elderly, disabled or folks generally who have cold feet.
